Serving as a fusion of Chef's knife and Nakiri knife, the Kiritsuke knife truly lives up to its all-purpose reputation. Compared to a Chef's knife, its blade has less curve, allowing for various cutting techniques such as pushing the knife forward, pulling backward, rocking, and chopping.

Additionally, its sharp tip proves especially useful for efficient detailed work, like making fine cuts of onion.

Use and Care

Mindful Cutting

It’s crucial to exercise caution when it comes to cutting hard objects, such as bones, to preserve their pristine edge. To ensure longevity and performance, always use a cutting board and refrain from using them on unforgiving surfaces like metal or stone, as these can lead to blade chipping and a loss of sharpness.

Maintenance

・Gentle Hand-Wash Only
Preserve Taski’s beauty by avoiding dishwashers.
Hand-wash it with care, to ensure its longevity.

・Swiftly Dry
To keep your knives in pristine condition, please promptly wipe away any moisture after cleaning.

Made with VG-10 Steel

Cutlery blades are made with a variety of steels, and VG-10 is by far the best overall choice of steel to work with in most kitchen environments, in my experience. It's an incredible blend of excellent edge retention, durability, corrosion resistance, and easy maintenance—perfect for pros and home cooks alike.

Finding Inspiration

Sometimes all you need is a beautiful knife to inspire you to get back in there, and whip up something truly special. Hitting a creative wall in the kitchen happens to me all the time, but a simple piece of exquisite cutlery paired with seasonal ingredients can get me motivated unlike anything else. Kiritsuke is just that kind of knife.

Unique knives gets people talking

When I worked in Michelin starred kitchens with acclaimed chefs such as Thomas Keller and Gordon Ramsay, having a knife that stood out usually meant you were someone to pay attention to. It meant you cared about the details, and that'll get any colleague or superior's attention. I only wish I had this knife about a decade earlier.
